“The plant Brugmansia ( Datura/Angel’s Trumpet) intrigues me by its beauty and seductive perfume. In contrast to the deeply dark stories of hallucinations through ingestion or smell that it can induce. As a septuagenarian I am interested in senescence - and use flowers to depict and celebrate its beauty. Wabisabi - the gold line that Japanese use to describe the imperfection and impermanence in nature I use to highlight the deeper chasms in the work.”
